International Congress on Organic Farming, Food Quality and Human Health

Major results from the integrated project QualityLowInputFood and other completed or ongoing European research projects will be reported at the 'Organic Farming, Food Quality and Human Health Congress' which will be held between the 6th and 9th of January 2005 at Newcastle University. The congress combines the Soil Association annual conference and the 1st Stakeholder Congress of QualityLowInputFood. See www.qlif.org for details.


Healthy Soil, Healthy Crops, Healthy People

The first QLIF Training Workshop will take place at Wageningen in the Netherlands from Wednesday the 22nd to Friday the 24th of September 2004. The aim of the workshop is to transfer both theoretical background knowledge and practical skills in the use of new techniques and experimental approaches. Participants will be PhD students and junior scientists/post-doctoral researchers. There is a maximum of 40 participants. See www.qlif.org for details.


Workshop in SAFO

A workshop on 'Enhancing animal health security and food safety in organic livestock production systems' will be held in Falenty, near Warsaw, Poland on the 16th to 18th September 2004. The workshop is organised by EU-financed Concerted Action on 'Sustaining Animal Health and Food Safety in Organic Agriculture' (SAFO). A preliminary programme has been put out on the project homepage and it is possible to make an online registration for the workshop.
