Non-medical control of parasitic worms in pigs

Differences in survival and infection pattern of various parasite species means that control strategies may have to be designed according to which parasites are present in a given herd.

New growing system for organic tomatoes

A newly developed growing system for organic tomatoes system combines the advantages of soil growing and confined beds. The system ensures a better utilization of water and nutrients, meaning reduced losses of nitrogen. It also provides a yield competitive with commercial, conventional growers.

Improper handling of grain may result in OTA

Surveillance reports have indicated problems with Ochratoksin A (OTA) in organic grain, but the problems seem to be related to improper management rather than the organic growing system.

Experimental units for organic farming research

The experimental units for organic farming research were established in 1996, and today they cover all major organic farming practices and soil types in Denmark.

In this article, the rotations and some of the ongoing experiments are introduced.
